Dr. Rossawan Reeves earned her PhD at the University of Tokyo on a full scholarship from the Government of Japan. Her work focused on sustainable human development through the Capabilities Approach - a framework developed by Nobel laureate Amartya Sen.

During her research, she kept seeing the same quiet tragedy play out.

Vibrant communities with generations of skill and wisdom began to lose what made them strong - not because they were incapable, but because a convenient external system started doing everything for them.

Fishing villages stopped fishing.
Artisans stopped making.
Why build your own capability when a system will do it for you?

Years later, living in Australia as an educator, she saw the same pattern again - only this time, it was happening to children.

A different system. The same erosion.

Children who used to create began to consume.
Children who used to think began to wait.
Children who used to struggle through problems began to ask a device for answers.

That’s when the mission became clear.
