A pattern we couldn’t ignore

Our founder, Dr. Rossawan Ponluksanapimol Reeves, studied sustainable human development at the University of Tokyo on a full scholarship from the Government of Japan. Her research focused on the Capabilities Approach - developed by Nobel laureate Amartya Sen - a framework that asks a simple question:

What does it take for people to live with real freedom and confidence?

During her research, she kept seeing the same quiet tragedy repeat itself.

Vibrant communities - rich with skill, wisdom, and self-reliance - began to lose what made them strong. Not because they were incapable, but because a convenient external system started doing everything for them.

Fishing villages stopped fishing.
Artisans stopped making.
Why build your own capability when a system will do it for you?

Years later, living in Australia as an educator, she saw the same pattern again - only this time, it was happening to children.

A different system. The same erosion.

Children who used to create began to consume.
Children who used to think began to wait.
Children who used to struggle through problems began to ask a device for answers.

That’s when the mission became clear.

This isn’t “The AI Crisis”

It’s the Capability Crisis.

When you optimise life for convenience and outsource human effort, you don’t just save time.

You slowly remove the very capabilities that make people confident, resilient, and free.

And once those capabilities are weakened, any technology - no matter how impressive - can become a crutch.
